Join us for the International Science Ministers Summit
The summit will bring together Ministers of Science and Technology, Education and Research from around the world, along with an outstanding presentation by a leading international scholar. Together we will examine national and international efforts in combating the Corona virus and explore the latest frontiers of scientific and technological research in this field. The summit will be held over time period of 2 hours.
In the course of the summit, we will exchange ideas on the role of governments in fighting global epidemic, national and international funding opportunities and avenues for global scientific cooperation. In addition, an emphasis will be given to the use of cutting-edge technologies in the field of medicine.

Identifying regional outbreak and spread of COVID-19 from population-wide surveys
Eran Segal is a Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics at the Weizmann Institute of Science, heading a lab with a multi-disciplinary team of computational biologists and experimental scientists in the area of Computational and Systems biology. His group has extensive experience in machine learning, computational biology, and analysis of heterogeneous high-throughput genomic data. His research focuses on Microbiome, Nutrition, Genetics, and their effect on health and disease. His aim is to develop personalized medicine based on big data from human cohorts.
Prof. Segal published over 150 publications, and received several awards and honors for his work, including the Overton prize, awarded annually by the International Society for Bioinformatics (ICSB) to one scientist for outstanding accomplishments in computational biology, and the Michael Bruno award. He was also elected as an EMBO member and as a member of the young Israeli academy of science.
Before joining the Weizmann Institute, Prof. Segal held an independent research position at Rockefeller University, New York.
Education: Prof. Segal was awarded a B.Sc. in Computer Science summa cum laude in 1998, from Tel-Aviv University, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Genetics in 2004, from Stanford University.

AI-driven clinical triage - the next digital healthcare backbone
Dr. Kira Radinsky is the chairperson and CTO of Diagnostic Robotics, where the most advanced technologies in the field of artificial intelligence are harnessed to make healthcare better, cheaper, and more widely available. Dr. Radinsky has founded SalesPredict, acquired by eBay in 2016 and served as eBay Chief Scientist (IL). She gained international recognition for her work at the Technion and Microsoft Research for developing predictive algorithms that recognized the early warning signs of globally impactful events, as disease epidemics and political unrests. In 2013, she was named one of MIT Technology Review’s 35 Young Innovators Under 35 and in 2015 Forbes included her as "30 Under 30 Rising Stars in Enterprise Tech”. She is a frequent presenter at global tech and industry conferences, including TEDx, Wired, Strata Data Science, Techcrunch and publishes in HBR. Radinsky also serves as a board member in Israel Securities Authority and technology board of HSBC bank. She also holds a visiting professor position at the Technion focusing on the application of predictive data mining in medicine.
