  •  Schools for health professions
  •  Religious seminaries

Important facts:

* There is a vast variety of studying options in Hebrew or English in Israel, there is a place for everyone!

For international study programs

Studying in Israel in English

We recommend you to study in Hebrew in Israel, though there are some options to study in English.

  • Studying in Hebrew, after taking ulpan and/or Taka if wanted, will allow you to integrate better into Israeli society. If you chose to study in English, please note: Some of the programs cost more than a standard university fee. However The Student Authority will only cover the standard fee and you will need to pay the balance on your own.
  • In English you will find fewer options available, especially at the undergraduate level.
  • If you will study in English, eventually you might need to cope with the issue of Hebrew, and studying in Hebrew will help to improve your Hebrew level.
  • In most Hebrew programs, there are options to submit papers in English and read articles in English, and a few other options to make your academic studies in Hebrew easier.
  • You can find a list of English courses at the CHE (Council of Higher Education) website

Tips & Recommendations

  • You are advised to contact The Israel Student Authority and receive guidance that will allow you to make the best decision. Be sure to bring with you to Israel original certificates and transcripts of all of your previous studies. If your documents are not in English you are advised to ask the institution itself for certificates and transcripts in English.
  • You are advised to reach a high level in Hebrew before beginning your studies, which is why we recommend taking one of the preparation programs designed for students Olim.
  • Tuition grants are NOT automatic; you must apply and meet all necessary deadlines once in Israel. You need to send in documents every semester and re-apply every academic year in order to ensure receipt of tuition payments.
  • You are advised to arrive in Israel a few days BEFORE your program begins to give yourself time for all necessary arrangements. Our scholarship cover tuition only, we do not cover registration fees, psychometric fees, campus social services, etc. – be prepared to pay these extras.
